DAY 0 - Morning

[Good morning, contestants!

One moment, you were receiving a mysterious envelope marked "Greetings from Islandia". The next moment, you're waking up on a beach.

Twenty-four people are scattered across the sands of a beautiful tropical beach, all somewhere in the middle of waking up. To your right, a sunrise over a gentle sea. To your left, dense, vibrant jungle.

There are two signs of civilization here! One is a shipwreck, about half of a good-sized ship emerging morosely from the waves. The other is a wooden sign at the edge of the jungle, showing simply an arrow pointing deeper into the island. Looking a bit closer, there is a narrow but well-maintained path into the jungle.

Oh no! But Cornelius can't swim in the ocean! He'll get stinky for sure!

I don't think so...but I also don't think we should do evil experiments on Cornelius.

Oh! That's a nice name! Is it because you like to eat sugar? Though then again, it's not like I like to eat gregs...

Yeah, I guess so. It's not like someone is just going to show up and say "surprise, I'm the mastermind" right away.

Nagase's my last name, Iori's my first. I'm Japanese, so I introduce myself the opposite way a Westerner does.

Oh, looks like you woke up! I thought I was going to have to feed to the cauldron for my latest potion.

[The answer is obviously trolling. Even though she says all of this with a straight face.]

You never specified. Hehehe. But since there's no phone signal on a normal deserted island, I can bring my friend, right?

Although Iori may not be able to get there that easily, she can still be an annoyance. Or at least yell loudly at her.]

Yahoo! Hey, did you hear me from up there?

I dunno, but it could be some other island, right? We haven't found a sign that says "Welcome to Islandia" on this island. Like...! We could be in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle!

Alright, then! I wonder if this is going to work...

[She has an inkling that it probably won't, but she might as well try.]

[Iori's rather used to taking things in stride, even if she's completely in turmoil on the inside. That's just how she is.]

Well, I guess it would be a rather bad joke if they just put us on an island for no reason, you know? There's usually someone to explain these things. [Like Heartseed. But her fellow club members aren't here, nor is... well, anybody she knows.] I don't know anything about this situation, but the last thing I do remember before coming here was seeing some sort of strange envelope. Did you see it too?

That's true. Hopefully there's enough food for all of us. I wouldn't want to help mediate a war if it comes to that. I did see trees though... maybe there's some fruit on those?
