So that's normal on Earth? On Keron, there's not so much pointing, but more usage of Shock Devices to make sure everyone is alert and paying attention to the trial.

What's the point of pointing anyways?

Udg...what? [waves it off] Weeeell, it prolly wouldn't fly in a real court or anythin', but as far as instincts go, the creep-o-meter's a pretty good indicator of who's, well, a creep.

Um, that was what the Chief of Police called this one judge I knew. I never got he judge's actual name, so...

[She shrugs.]

Not all the spies are necessarily going to be creeps, though. I mean, Sadao's profile was creepier than most and he wasn't a spy.

And yeah, there's no way the spies were all picked to be the creepy spooky scary guys, but hey, voting based on gut instinct isn't the worst idea for the first night.
