DAY 0 - Morning

[Good morning, contestants!

One moment, you were receiving a mysterious envelope marked "Greetings from Islandia". The next moment, you're waking up on a beach.

Twenty-four people are scattered across the sands of a beautiful tropical beach, all somewhere in the middle of waking up. To your right, a sunrise over a gentle sea. To your left, dense, vibrant jungle.

There are two signs of civilization here! One is a shipwreck, about half of a good-sized ship emerging morosely from the waves. The other is a wooden sign at the edge of the jungle, showing simply an arrow pointing deeper into the island. Looking a bit closer, there is a narrow but well-maintained path into the jungle.

I kinda feel like we're dreaming pretty small so far.

[carptricks]

You think we should start dreaming for something bigger?

[HMMMM. . .]

How about a cruise ship with an all-you-can-eat ice cream bar?

[exfired]

[snaps his fingers]

Now we're getting somewhere! I figure, if you're gonna dream, might as well go all the way.

[carptricks]

I don't know how you get much bigger'n a cruise ship with an ice cream bar.

[pause. . .]

Unless it's a cruise ship with wings?

[now he was just being ridiculous]

[exfired]

Innit that just a plane? [a beat] Well, maybe we stick to middle ground big.

[carptricks]

[amused snort]

Whoever heard of cruise plains, anyway?

[exfired]

Private jets? [waves it off] Y'caught me, I'm no plane expert.

[carptricks]

I suppose you're not a boat expert either, huh. . .

[he jerks his thumb towards the plastic. thing. that is wrecked on the island shore]

I was thinking that we might be able to repair it, or at least use the materials to make a boat ourselves, but. . .

[exfired]

Nope! I don't usually do my travels by boat, soooo. [he shrugs] 'Sides, that thing's plastic.

[carptricks]

When you're desperate, even plastic looks good. . .

So what do you usually travel by, then?

[exfired]

Trust me, once you've tried floating on scraps of plastic, it prolly won't look that good.

Magic. [he doesn't even hesitate when he answers the question. it's NOT TECHNICALLY...A LIE....]
