DAY 0 - Morning

[Good morning, contestants!

One moment, you were receiving a mysterious envelope marked "Greetings from Islandia". The next moment, you're waking up on a beach.

Twenty-four people are scattered across the sands of a beautiful tropical beach, all somewhere in the middle of waking up. To your right, a sunrise over a gentle sea. To your left, dense, vibrant jungle.

There are two signs of civilization here! One is a shipwreck, about half of a good-sized ship emerging morosely from the waves. The other is a wooden sign at the edge of the jungle, showing simply an arrow pointing deeper into the island. Looking a bit closer, there is a narrow but well-maintained path into the jungle.

THE BEACH

[You and 23 other people are waking up on a mysterious beach. Time to take stock of the situation!

Notably, if you try to investigate that wrecked ship, you will find that it's hollow, and made of plastic.]

THE TRAIL

[The trail leads deeper and deeper into the jungle. It's not a hard trail, fortunately, but it might be a bit annoying if you didn't show up wearing shoes.

The jungle on either side is full of the sounds of tropical birds and other signs of life. Anyone looking carefully at their surroundings may spot a few trees with ripe papayas hanging from them along the way.]

[Waking up? NAH.

Hibiki is just sprawled out on the beach like she owns the place, snoring softly. Being magically transported to a mysterious beach is NOT going to convince her to wake up at sunrise.]

[Screw the ship, Meryl's staring at the water with awe and wonder]

[Almost like she's never seen this much in her life. (Which is true)]

This is... I didn't think it was possible....

[He immediately jumps awake - and realizing the waves were licking close to his feet, he jumped a further foot away from the shore before the sea water could burn his feet]

What? Where -?

...Where is this place?

[A little boy with a teapot on his head is waking up. He's shivering just a little bit in his sleep, but as he opens his eyes, it stops. He looks around a little blearily, and then breaks into a grin when he sees a frog lying on the sand next to him.]

Cornelius!

[And he crawls across the sand to pick the frog up and hug him.]

Oh Cornelius! I missed you! I hope you put on your suncreen before napping!

[candyrocks]

[Who's this guy? Greg, clutching his frog in his own arms, is watching him interestedly.]

Hi! What's your name? I'm Greg!

Ah-?

[A Pekoponian child, so he wasn't alone on the island. And a frog - harmless creatures, though their croaking sounded close enough to Resonance that it always throws him off guard. He shakes off his inital confusion and starts bowing, eyes closing]

I am Dororo. It is a pleasure to meet you Greg-Dono. I do not suppose you know where we are located at present?

[Shit shit shit, OF ALL THE PLACES TO WAKE UP, WHY DID HAVE TO BE THE BEACH.

Ivlis scrambles to get up before the water could reach him, and go far away from it as possible.]

Gah- what kind of sick joke is this?!

Nope! No clue!

[But he says it pretty cheerfully. He doesn't really seem to be phased by Dororo's appearance or his bowing.]

So you don't live here?

[Waking up on a strange beach after receiving something strange? Unsettling wasn't even the right word Alice could come up with. What made it worse was the fact she had nothing with her.

So there is a very annoyed looking girl walking the edge of the water, trying to figure out exactly where this was.]

WHAT THE HECK, MAAAAAN!!

[The relative quiet moment on the beach is disturbed by what sounds like one rather distressed young man shouting at the top of his lungs over there in that corner of the beach.]

Why the crud am I on a beach?! This better not be a trick, man!

[ A row of vibrantly green trees dead ahead; an impossibly blue, impossibly large, impossibly full of water ocean at his six. This is perhaps one of the worst conundrums he's ever faced, because despite his many (stupid) talents, running breakneck in two directions at once has never been among them, and he must thus make a choice.

The water wins.

He pulls himself up from where he seems to have fallen unconscious in the sand at some point — must be Tuesday — and barrels right for it like some crazy bastard who's never seen a body of water in his life. ]

Look at all this water!!

[ SOMEONE STOP HIM FROM DROWNING. ]

[He suppose it's good that Greg seems to be unphased by the circumstances, calmness would suit the task of escaping then fear or panic]

That is correct, last I recall I was in my home in the country you Pekoponians call Japan, and then I found myself here. I suppose the story is the same with you, Greg-Dono.

Oh, nope! I wasn't in Japan at all! Actually, I've never been.

Well... I mean just suddenly waking up somewhere completely different.

Haha, oh. Yeah! Me too! But it's nice here!

[That angry, distressed shouting reminded him of Giroro, but it didn't sound like him... not that it matter considering his comrade's tendency to have the weirdest things happen to him, and a voice change would be the least odd thing to have happened.

He stops in his tracks when he sees that it was a Pekoponian]

Ah - So there are more people who ended up here.

[A young... man stands nearby, and was complaining quietly to himself until he heard Ivlis.]

I don't knooow! It's totally rude to just put us on an island!

Yes - far as places to be, there could be far worse.

[The humidity was close to Keron's, and while the sea was salty - those green foliage would suggest plenty of fresh water somewhere, and with that - possibly food.

There might be dangerous animals, but he'll have to scout the area]

We should see if there's anyone else who wound up here.

Okay! Do you want to come looking with Cornelius and me?

[This person? Frog? Whoever he is, he seems smart. But being by yourself in a strange place isn't very fun. Greg's lucky to have his frog, but he doesn't want to leave someone else alone.]

[Robin was accustomed to some weird things happening she lived in Japanifornia what do you expect But, just...

[ A young lady is also stirring on the sand, looking as confused as everyone else. Heaving herself onto her feet, she brushes the sand off of her skirt and-- ]

Oh! What a gorgeous beach. [ she surveys it for a moment before snapping back into her senses ] N-No, now's not the time for that...

[ if she sees anyone walk past her who doesn't look particularly angry, she'll ask: ]

Um, excuse me. Do you happen to know what this place is?

Tch, not only is it rude, it's also disgusting! Really, dumping us in this kind of place...

[With a frustrated growl, he kicks up some of the sand. Of course, it scatters everywhere, with some at the other guy's direction.]

Whoever did this, they're gonna pay! I'll see to it if I ever get my hands on them!!

I...don't think it's a trick. I mean, the ship is plastic, but other than that it seems fairly real.
