DAY 0 - Morning

[Good morning, contestants!
One moment, you were receiving a mysterious envelope marked "Greetings from Islandia". The next moment, you're waking up on a beach.
Twenty-four people are scattered across the sands of a beautiful tropical beach, all somewhere in the middle of waking up. To your right, a sunrise over a gentle sea. To your left, dense, vibrant jungle.
There are two signs of civilization here! One is a shipwreck, about half of a good-sized ship emerging morosely from the waves. The other is a wooden sign at the edge of the jungle, showing simply an arrow pointing deeper into the island. Looking a bit closer, there is a narrow but well-maintained path into the jungle.
Welcome to Islandia!]
Re: THE BEACH
The water wins.
He pulls himself up from where he seems to have fallen unconscious in the sand at some point — must be Tuesday — and barrels right for it like some crazy bastard who's never seen a body of water in his life. ]
Look at all this water!!
[ SOMEONE STOP HIM FROM DROWNING. ]

Oi, the hell are you doing? Swimming at the beach is one thing, but you're gonna drown in that bigass coat!
[he doesn't want to do CPR on a dude if he can help it]

I'm being careful, I'm being careful! [ It seems no amount of sound logic can hamper the excitement this much water has created, as he scampers up to his knees in seawater ] Do I look like the kind of guy who's careless enough to —

He flails
He faceplants quite soundly into the shallow surf
(Use your judgement to fill in the rest of that question) ]
no subject
[oh wait he probably can't hear that since HE'S FUCKING DROWNING. Leorio stalks over to the edge of the water.]
I TOLD YOU!
[there now he'll just grumpily watch for a second to see if he's going to pull himself up]
no subject
HE COULD PULL HIMSELF UP OR HE COULD MAKE YOU HELP. Perhaps all this disparaging cruelty is preventing him from getting up on his own. ]
no subject
God fine he is way too nice for his own good. Leorio tosses his jacket off to the side (after he'd already spent so long getting sand out of it, too) and hustles in, water splashing around behind him. Lifeguard stuff isn't anything he's studied, but once he's close he holds out his hand toward Vash's flaily one.]
Hey, I gotcha! Grab my wrist!
[and pull]
no subject
The flaily hand in question latches on gratefully - in a bizarrely strong vice grip, as if it were literally a vice - and he pulls himself up coughing and spluttering. ]
— Wet sand doesn't move the same way dry sand does!

Is this a dream? All of this water, I...

[That voice.]
[That hair.... that red coat....]
No.... It can't be....
Done!
[The excitement and wonder drains from her face (momentarily), and she holds her hands up to her head as horror overtakes her...]
It's a NIGHTMARE!
1/2
Wait, no. She's actually standing there. ]
no subject
No, no, this is an ocean, see? [ BC THAT'S CLEARLY WHAT YOU MEANT ] Isn't it amazing?!
1/2
Yes, I've never seen anything like it...
no subject
What are you doing here?! Are you behind this?!
[Is it an actual nightmare?! ... Hallucination?]
no subject
[ The picture of innocence, ] Behind what, the ocean?
I'm flattered by your estimation of my abilities, but this is getting a little silly.
no subject
You know very well what I mean, Mr. Vash. [Don't play stupid!]
If we've been kidnapped because of some trouble you've landed in...!
no subject
Whoa, hey, this isn't fair! Why blame me?! I didn't do anything, I swear!
[ Aside from open a sketchy letter but
Pot
Kettle ]

Where do ya think you're goin'? [ surprise, Vash! it's your favourite shitty priest, here to ruin your day. ] Do ya even know how to swim in this stuff?
no subject
Oh good, you're here. [ Deadpanned. He was aLMOST ENJOYING HIMSELF ] How the heck would I know how to swim?! You can walk in water, too, y'know!
no subject
You can barely walk on sand without something comin' up to getcha.

Which he hastens to avoid stepping on, to such a degree that he unbalances himself and falls into the surf with a rough SPLOOSH! ]
no subject
The Lord is testing me.
[ wonder how much that coat weighs soaking wet ]
no subject
He's going to drown
Save him ]
