DAY 0 - Morning

[Good morning, contestants!

One moment, you were receiving a mysterious envelope marked "Greetings from Islandia". The next moment, you're waking up on a beach.

Twenty-four people are scattered across the sands of a beautiful tropical beach, all somewhere in the middle of waking up. To your right, a sunrise over a gentle sea. To your left, dense, vibrant jungle.

There are two signs of civilization here! One is a shipwreck, about half of a good-sized ship emerging morosely from the waves. The other is a wooden sign at the edge of the jungle, showing simply an arrow pointing deeper into the island. Looking a bit closer, there is a narrow but well-maintained path into the jungle.

[After a lot of mingling and watching people mess around with the plastic ship, Leorio's finally noticed and made his way over to the wooden arrow. He jerks his thumb at it suddenly.]

Uh, guys, did anyone else see this? Whoever dumped us here, they left another invitation.

Well, there's nothing on the beach...and we've got nothing to lose. [Hans shrugs, staring at the arrow.]

[Leorio nods. Sounds reasonable, giant sideburns guy.]

You've got a point... still, it's kind of suspicious the sign is blank. It's just one surprise after another here.

[Thanks, tiny glasses guy.]

The sign is blank, but it is pointing that way. [Hans points right into the jungle.]

... An arrow? Maybe this island isn't so uninhabited, after all! I guess it won't hurt to follow it.

Yeah. Whatever happens, we'll find out something about why we're here. Better than lying around!

Agreed. Though is anyone still lying around?

I dunno. Some of these chicks look like they're ready to work on their tans...

[That green haired girl in particular, though he didn't talk to her.]

Not that I was paying that much attention or anything.

Well, I wouldn't say that's a bad thing... after we find out what's going on.

[Leorio snickers at that.]

All right, good point. I definitely don't have anything against a girl with a tan... or a bikini.... But, you know. Priorities!

Thinking about that, though, it would probably be best if everyone went in around the same time. That way no one gets left behind in case the jungle is harder to travel than it looks.

I hope it's an invitation to an all-expenses paid resort.

[he says in a deadpan, knowing very well that that's probably not true]

You wanna check it out?

[That gets a sardonic laugh out of him.]

Might as well. Hell, if they paid for the trip, they better go all the way...

Whoever "they" are.

It'd sure make up for the whole "waking up on an unfamiliar beach with no recollection how you got there" thing.

Well, arrow signs don't sprout up from the ground... I want know who they are too. Only one way to find out, I guess.

[He's dithering because doing so also requires throwing caution to the winds. Then again, this jungle couldn't possibly be more dangerous than the one in the hunter exam. He straightens his tie, nods at Kaito, and heads on in.]

[Kaito shoves his hands into his pockets and ambles behind him, keeping a sharp eye on their surroundings as he does so]

We definitely weren't learning anything new by hanging around the beach.

[She does a double-take at that haircut, but... no.. it's not him]

There must be something more to this.

[Leorio's gotten almost-mistaken for two different people today. He must have one of those faces. Raising an eyebrow at the weird face she made, he then lets it slide with a shrug.]

I don't like the idea of following a vague arrow into the jungle. But, at least there's a trail. Maybe that means the destination isn't too far.

[More like the hairstyle, goofy expression, and glasses...]

There doesn't seem to be anywhere else to go.

I guess there's no choice then... other than staying put and trying to hail a plane. I think it's at least worth checking out.

There is no need to worry. We'll stay together and if a problem shall arise, I'll take care of it.

[He'd say it's your makeup that's creepy, but maybe that's just cause it reminds him of Hisoka. But whatever, cause they found SOMETHING!!]

A clue, huh... Though I thought it'd be a little bit less obvious than a big stinkin' arrow. Go figure! Guess at least the island's real, even if the ship wasn't.

I guess that was your first mistake, after the obvious fake shipwreck.

Anyway, it looks like we're going in regardless.
