DAY 0 - Morning

[Good morning, contestants!

One moment, you were receiving a mysterious envelope marked "Greetings from Islandia". The next moment, you're waking up on a beach.

Twenty-four people are scattered across the sands of a beautiful tropical beach, all somewhere in the middle of waking up. To your right, a sunrise over a gentle sea. To your left, dense, vibrant jungle.

There are two signs of civilization here! One is a shipwreck, about half of a good-sized ship emerging morosely from the waves. The other is a wooden sign at the edge of the jungle, showing simply an arrow pointing deeper into the island. Looking a bit closer, there is a narrow but well-maintained path into the jungle.

It's a kind of man-made material that's cheaper to make than wood or metal. Buuut the other side of it is that it's kinda not what you'd wanna make a whole boat out of, if you catch my drift.

...Point! [he laughs a bit] Anything else you think you could do with a hook hand, or s'it just swinging an' grabbing?

Hmm. A parrot perch, maybe?

[Ohhhh. Well, he learns new things everyday.]

I see. [Hans himself knocks on it, then lowers his fist with a slightly confused expression.] It doesn't feel very strong.

Thanks, but that's okay! He's my frog, so I have to name him myself.

Yeah, I know how that is. I've been trying to come up with the perfect name for this frog for ages! Days, even!

Cornelius Lilypad's a nice name for a frog.

Yeah, it's nice! But I can probably do better...

... An arrow? Maybe this island isn't so uninhabited, after all! I guess it won't hurt to follow it.

I guess that's true too! [Maybe it was some sort of rule between owners and their pets? She's never had one, though.] But at least you'll have fun naming him, I'm sure.

I don't know, I was thinking that it'd feel like a nice hot tub... But I guess that means you're sensitive down below, huh.

Yessir! [And there's a salute with her hand and she runs on over.] Okay, so am I supposed to try to grab it from the other side or just help you out with this side?

"Where" is a pretty good question that most of us probably don't have an answer to.

I've got a few educated cases on "what" it is, though.

I dunno about you, but if I were stuck on a deserted island with twenty-three other people, I'd hope a situation where luminol was needed would never arise.
